My favorite season: warm colors, World Series, College football, leaves - and Thanksgiving - my favorite holiday. Family, food, football - but most of all people manage to be thankful - the beginning of contentment, foundation of joy. I've taken up a few simple traditions that have proved meaningful: Walks with Robert Frost, writing notes of appreciation, and telling the Pilgrim story. Frost's poems evoke Autumn from every nook & cranny. Notes (carefully written with a select fountain pen) acknowledge grace given. Pilgrim faith journeys provide contextual roots for my own. And then there is turkey. My wife's turkey. How she, being Japanese, can outdo American versions has been a pleasant mystery. And so I sit here counting my blessings - thankful once again.
